Commitment to foster an employee-owned company

Laramie Resources, LLC, develops silica for industrial sand, frac sand, ground silica, and hematite for  advanced materials manufacturing.

Initial production of low-cost materials will help regional manufacturers today, while building more diverse possibilities for tomorrow. We collaborate with teams of 3rd party experts to drive science out of the lab and into a more sustainable industrial reality. We match process innovation to known resources, so what looks like sand and iron tailings for glass and cement today, can become the nano-materials that build a resilient future of lower carbon materials, resource recovery, and reclamation.

Resources and Goals

Silica

  • Mine high purity silica for industrial sand and ground silica
  • Industrial process development with the University of Wyoming and a major soda ash producer in western Wyoming
  • Manufacture silicates and advanced nano scale (billionth of a meter ) silica materials used in enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and other applications.
  • Long-term goal is precipitated silica and silicates production, where all raw materials are available in Wyoming. Read More
Iron

  • Sunrise mine ran for 80 years and left behind valuable reserves and infrastructure.
  • Silica processes are also relevant to high-value iron oxides used in environmental remediation, EOR, and natural iron pigment market.
  • Review materials and explore development possibilities at the Sunrise Iron Mine in Sunrise, WY.
  • Characterize materials, products, and optimize process to arrive at those products. Read More

Stewardship is expected here.
What are the community’s needs and concerns?

Our community is tied to the land, and we seek solutions from and protections for the land
Development is always a discussion between benefits and impacts. Complete information of a projects’ requirements and risks are essential. Real stewardship seeks understanding of all voices in order to be a good neighbor as well as a profitable company. John is a highly-respected, multigenerational community fixture, and James is a communicator who inspires by sharing what is possible on his native Front Range. We both come from cattle ranching families with a love for the land. We seek the details of what is possible to arrive at what makes sense.

The technology is known, the processes are simple, the resources are secured, and teams are in place.

Everything we need is here, the future is in the B.A.G.
We’re burning daylight, so let’s get to work.
